Wandering in confinement 23
You can travel in time when you see this kind of sky. I reminds me of a 19th Century romantic painting. It was taken at dusk, in Switzerland, on the Léman, from the window of my hotel in Vevey. It may look like a tainted black and white effect but that is how it was. The end of the lake was far away and I had to use a telephoto lens to crush the perspective and blend the values of the sky melting with the fog of the clouded valley. There is just a white band of reflection to mark the limit of the lake. For once, the contrast is within a short bandwidth, matching the compression of the perspective. Needless to say I did not think of all this when I actioned the shutter. It was a quick draw. At this time of the day, light changes very quickly.
